Jaclynn Benner was born on December 27th 1989 and grew up in Quakertown Pennsylvania. She is a conceptual installation artist who is currently a student at Savannah College of Art and Design, in Savannah Georgia.
Her current work consists of exploring a world within a world: the unseen of society. Almost the sense of a world beyond what we choose to see in any given moment, and it is often reflected back into oneself. Her work relies on documentation of these adventures.
Her analytical yet compassionate views on the world around her stem from childhood. She was brought up in a Mennonite family with strict morals. Becoming an artist was a way to express the unexpressed. She then had the opportunity to live and work in an art studio studying under a classical master for a few years. Now she is working towards her undergraduate degree in Painting at Savannah College of Art and Design. While working at SCAD she has had several exhibitions and awards. One of her most prominent being the recipient of the New York Studio for the summer of 2011, where she had a solo exhibition and worked in Triangle Studio’s gallery.
