Currently living and working in Brooklyn, NY. My work is inspired by the"marvelous" and the mundane, the vastness and the minuteness and how seemingly contrary ideas can coexist at once.
studied art at the University of Texas at El Paso. Received Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Painting with a minor in Sculpture in 1995. Received Master of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art in 2002 from New York University. Recipient of the Jacob T. and Gwendolyn Lawrence Foundations Visual Harlem Grant Program 2002/2003. Resident Artist of the Workspace Grant for New York Emerging Artists through the Center for Book Arts in New York City from October through December 2003. Participated in the Lower Manhattan Cultural Councils Residency at the Woolworth Building from November 2003 through May 2004. Received the Weir Farm Trust Residency in Wilton, Connecticut for the month of February 2004, as well as the Joshua Tree National Park Artists Residency (2005). Recently received an Artists Community Fellowship sponsored by Earthwatch Institute entitled Archeology of the Pacific Northwest in Washington state USA.
