I grew up in Hong Kong and have lived in different places before settling into my studio in the heart of Brooklyn. Before arriving in New York, I traveled and studied on the pacific island of Guam. Later, I spent my time in both the United States and Europe. My exposure to western Arts continues to influence my painting style, however my painting philosophy remains tied closely to my Chinese background.

My work often combines different senses of space, form, and color in order to achieve coherence in broken situations and uncertain moments. I paint with acrylic most of the time and the paints provide the intense and fabricated looks that I like to see in my painting. I use colors to define emotions and the colors can be playful. The vibrant colors often share my vision of the world: intense, haunting and fabricated. Portrait, figures and architecture are my main subjects through out my creative process. They are the constant changing landscape to me.

My other art form is digital drawing, it continues my exploration of creative space. Using the same “canvas” file in Photoshop, each time I add and subtract lines to compose a new drawing from the last finished one.
