I was born in Waterville, Maine in 1958. I am a native of Maine whose paintings depict the land and people of my home state in various incarnations. I graduated from Syracuse University in 1980, receiving my BFA in painting and attended graduate school at the Maryland Institute College of Art, receiving my MFA in painting in 1986. I am an Assistant Professor of Art who teaches drawing, 2d-Design and painting at the University of Maine in Orono. My paintings have been exhibited widely, including the Baltimore Museum of Art, Maryland Art Place, School 33 Art Center, The Park School, the Center for Maine Contemporary Art in Rockport, the University of Maine in Orono, and in 2006 at Whitney Art Works in Portland, Maine. My paintings are held in collections both nationally and internationally. My work is represented by the Courthouse Gallery Fine Art, Ellsworth, Maine.
