About

Using diverse media I explore the possibility of a different reality. In creating unusual forms and textures I invite the audience to question our world and how we perceive it to be. I play with the human acceptance that what we are told is true or real. I like to provoke questions and a slight mistrust of the reality that fills the space around us. The idea of faith and truths as they exist in space and time are integral to my practice.

Reality is something that our society teaches us. Working with installation and mixed media I encourage thoughtful questioning of what seems to be. By altering the ordinary and filling unused or empty spaces, with bright colour and continuous forms I provoke questions. I invite the audience to consider what may occupy the space in-between places and therefore to see with new eyes.

-Co-founded the pop-up stall/gallery/café concept on Portobello Road’s famous antique market
-Organised visual display and merchandise content for The Gold Market
-Promoted and co-ordinated the launch party with live bands, catering and the ‘pop up’ shop

-Styled the new 11 story flagship store before it opened in December 2009
-Promoted to lead a team of 15, acting as a bridge between staff and managers
-Constantly maintained the aesthetics throughout the shop

-A solo exhibition of photography and drawings made while travelling and living in Tokyo
-Promoted the ‘Art Party’, filling the venue in the fashionable Shimokitazawa district of Tokyo
-Created a successful event aimed at a different culture and city

Ascension 2 (Rising Sun)
The Tower Block Installation, Kingston University, June-November 2008
-Planned a challenging large scale art piece, which spanned eight stories of a tower block
-Overcame health and safety issues in a public space, gaining approval from the University
-Secured sponsorship from an independent business

- Installation/ performance piece filling a space in the Stanley Picker Gallery
-Promoted the two person show and performance-oriented opening night
-Strengthened the relationship between Kingston University and the gallery
