John Darley was born in Kent and was educated at Gillingham Technical High School and Maidstone College of Art. He worked as a graphic designer for many years and now is an established artist in miniature techniques. He has exhibited at the Royal Miniature Society's annual exhibition, the Hilliard Society and the Society of Limners. John is currently painting local heritage images on pebbles, an activity funded by Canterbury Arts Council which will form part of the events at Whitstable Oyster Festival. He also carried out a pebble hunt and painting workshop on the beach at Folkestone during their triennual fringe festival.
