Back in the 70's I was one of the very few fine art photographers photographing and exhibiting color photography in New York. That is because color faded and was not considered fine art. I did and persisted. In 1979, I spent a lot of time walking the streets of New York City. I shot over 100 rolls of medium format Kodak Ektachrome transparency film, which I processed myself. I made three prints of this image on Cibachrome in my color darkroom. Cibachrome was the best method at the time of making color prints that would last. In the process of moving from one place to another over the years, I discarded two of those prints. Fast forward 41 years. Today, beautiful color prints can be made on professional inkjet printers. This print is one of an edition of five to be printed on my professional Epson printer using pigment inks, which have a longevity in excess of 100 years. It will be printed on22" X17" Epson Exhibition Fiber, which gives a true photographic look. It will be signed and dated on the lower right in archival pen, and titled and numbered on the lower left in archival pen. There will be a border of 1" on the left and right, and a border of 3.5" on the top and bottom. My thumb print will be on the reverse along with my initials. The print will be dated under the image 1979, and the year of printing will appear on the reverse. I have limited the edition to 5 to limit availability and make it a better investment.

BLACK FRIDAY SALE ON MY WEBSITE https://russmartinandmarciamartin.com Mr. Martin is a citizen of the USA, having been born in upstate New York State and spending his youth in the small rural village of Clinton. Because of this exposure, and frequent trips to their summering spot in the Adirondack Mountains, nature became a part of him. Naturally, it would become expressed though his art, which was inspired by his father, a part time professional photographer and amateur watercolor painter. When he was young, professional cameras were ever present, as well as a fully equipped darkroom. There was a mystique about photography, and "that place", that he wanted to know, so he convinced his father to teach him. Thus began a life long career as a fine art photographer. Later, he went on to study fine art photography at college, and earn an MFA in photography so as to be able to teach photography on the college level, have time to produce his work, and earn a living from what he loved. He was a fine art photography teacher for over thirty years, and is now retired, having done so in 2008, to concentrate full time on his work. Over the years, Mr. Martin has won numerous awards and feature articles have been published about him in national and international publications. Recently, his pictures have been featured in the UK, Australia, and the USA. His flora images of hosta plants have won first place awards in the Prix de la Photographie, Paris, the International Photography Awards (The Lucies), and the International Garden Photographer of the Year.
