The bronze objects in the artwork draw inspiration from the paraphernalia found in a drinks cabinet. As the cocktail culture continued to flourish in the mid-20th century, swizzle sticks diversified in terms of shapes, sizes, and materials. The designs became collectible items, cherished by cocktail enthusiasts and collectors alike. The history of swizzle sticks can be traced back to the 18th century in the Caribbean, initially crafted from natural materials like twigs and branches. The term swizzle itself originates from the Caribbean practice of using a green twig from the Quararibea plant, also known as the swizzle stick tree, to stir drinks. The work is composed of two bronze cast swizzle sticks, a bronze cast imprint of the inside of a hand, and a bronze ring with the words 'Fresh' inscribed. The work is set in American Black Walnut wood. The painting is made using oil paint and pure silk.
