Inspiration In my work I am often looking for characteristic elements of body language. Which element of body language do I find most decisive for expressing the desired expression in a 3d-art sculpture? Which elements of the expression to be imagined, promote recognisability? It's like determining the moment when you freeze a movie at the correct shot. In the sculpture series "Body Postures" and "Eyes" I use a model of cupboard legs that I also used under ... my cupboards. In these curved, tapered, 4-sided shape cupboard legs I see a construction element with many possibilities. Different compositions always give a different shape. The minimum possible processing with the sander also changes the shape. Small additions and accents help determine the final desired sculpture. Details The challenge for this statuette was viewing the ability to construct a sitting, reading statuette. This with two building blocks for the legs and one for the body. This figure sits with straight legs on the high white plinth, the toes of the right foot up, the toes of the left foot down. There is a book on her thighs in which she is reading. To approximate the correct proportions, the body is placed on the pedestal separately from the legs. The upper body is slightly bent forward to look into the book. The two half spheres on the front turn the figurine into a female figure. The head on the torso is turned a little to the left, making it look like she's looking at the left page of the book. On top of her head, the hair is tied together and falls apart like a plume.

Netherlands
Live and work in Maastricht, the Netherlands. I started in 1995 with making my small furniture and wood sculptures under the name Unicorn Creation, Decorative objects that can also be used practically. Painting the inside of an object is just as important to me as painting the outside. Opening doors, drawers and boxes therefore has an element of surprise. All unique items.
