Archival photographic C-type print on Fuji Matt Paper 231 gsm. Limited edition of 12 with dimensions of 30 W x 20 H. From the series “Murder, My Sweet” - 2023 Inspired by 1940s film noir, the series "Murder, My Sweet" delves into themes of jealousy and insecurity. It features Diana as her own worst enemy, pitted against a more seductive, attractive, and confident version of herself. Jealousy is often linked to low self-esteem and can lead to harmful self-sabotage. The film noir of the 1940s reflected the disillusionment felt in the country, particularly by soldiers returning home and women losing their jobs at the end of the war. Similarly, this story deals with the fear of losing something precious. The staged photographs explore our self-limiting beliefs, insecurities, and the gap between our true selves and societal expectations. I question the limitations and pressures that society, domestic situations, or ourselves can impose on our identity and our life.
