This image is from a soccer game in Gothenburg, Sweden, at the Gothia Cup, the worlds biggest soccer tournament for youth. I was shooting amongst the spectators, who are mainly other team members and families to the players, when I noticed this american woman waving this little papper flag. As I zoomed in on the flag I also noticed that the nailes were painted in red, white and blue. And suddenly a shadow entered the frame and I pressed the shutter. To me it all became an image of high spirits in a dark surrounding. Of hope even in when the dark cluds covers the sky and dark shadows enters. It is a 60x40 cm ink jet print made on Canson Baryta paper, printed on a Epson printer.
