This painting is stretched on a sturdy deep 4cm canvas, with crossbar for support, and can be hung directly onto the wall, or framed according to taste. This painting, although essentially abstract, has a feeling of depth and space, that illicits a feeling of calm and serenity. Swathes of colour bow and drift across the surface, suggesting to the viewer water, or skies. Either way a space that they can be drawn into, they can explore, and ultimately enjoy the beauty this space brings. I was influenced by Japanese paintings of flowers and water initially, and the Japanese tradition of flattening perspective. I feel it is a calm gentle painting, with pops of hot orange and bronze colour, that compliment the icy cool blue hues, and that lift and nourish the viewer. I love this painting, mainly for it's gentle joyfulness : )

Her work has been exhibited by various UK galleries, and overseas in Germany, Sweden and the US. "I believe that visual language has a potent power, like music or literature. And it has the power to lift, communicate and transform. Using pattern and mark to create rhythm, I use a range of materials; paint, pencil, fabric, collage, metallics, and build up my paintings in a very organic way. I overlay layers of paint, mark and collage to build up the pictorial space. This creates glimpses, hidden spaces, things half_ shown, suggested. I use delicate layers of texture, drawing and colour to create an ambiguous space. The image is then worked and re_worked until the image is “found”. Only when a balance and integration is achieved I feel that the painting is finished. I like to think of them as “visual poems”. This sensual world is one to be absorbed, felt, and enjoyed. "
