1017-1 (Swimmer) Painting

This painting was made outdoors on a pre-primed canvas that was rolled up to be taken to and from the painting site. The water is pretty cold. Actually there was a sudden early frost about 2 weeks after this was finished. The reflections get much stronger as the sun gets lower and the pool becomes a source of light. I sometimes work on a series of similar paintings at a particular time of year and also will revisit unfinished works from the same time the previous year. The painting dusk pool (from 2016) was finished at the same time I began this piece. The painting has a minimum of 2"stretching margins on all sides which are partly painted. I recommend using a floating frame which leaves the edges of the painting exposed but covers the sides.
