This serigraph/giclé print is an exact reproduction in a series limited to 227 examples of one of the many punk-inspired sketches he did in his unusual graphic style. This is the first of an upcoming series of prints of his work with dolls from Barbie to Mdvanii and many others. Please feel welcome into the world of Mdvaniiisms! - "All isms are constructions" as Georges Braque said. A Mdvaniiism is a word invented by BillyBoy* & Lala which is their art movement relating to the concept of their iconic Mdvanii doll. In 1982 BillyBoy* was engaged by Mattel to create his iconic exhibition which toured France and then the United States. The dolls were then shown throughout the world in various incarnations. BillyBoy* also designed for Mattel the very first doll ever produced with a designer's name on the Barbie doll box. The first doll was “BillyBoy*, Le Nouveau Théâtre de la Mode Barbie” (1984) and the second, “BillyBoy*, Feelin’ Groovy Barbie” (1987). These two dolls were a tremendous influence not only for doll collectors but for doll designers, as well as having a tremendous impact of the Barbie doll’s place in the lexicon of popular culture. Pop artist and 20th-century icon Andy Warhol did a portrait of his close friend and his muse BillyBoy* entitled, “Portrait of BillyBoy*” (1986). This would be the artist’s very last celebrity portrait. It was the last American icon to join Andy Warhol's pantheon of famous names and brands that were the centre of his practice. The originals are using a strange and unusual mixture of crayon, pastel, ink and pencil, they are reproduced as closely to the colours and shades as the originals. These three drawings are the first in a series of serigraphs of BillyBoy* doll drawings which are created for collectors of both of contemporary art and dolls. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BillyBoy* https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mdvanii
