We grow orchids in our greenhouse which is a continuous source of inspiration. I love all flowers and am an avid gardener. Most of my florals are bright, but this series of four is neutral in color. With these pieces I tried to convey a restful, peaceful feeling for the viewer. The Neutral Floral Series could be equally at home in a residence or commercial setting. Anyone can relate to the floral subject matter that is quietly suitable for any design use. The collage of Asian papers lends texture to the quiet color palette.

Symbols that represent common threads and relationships of life are prevalent in my paintings. Combining the ancient art of printmaking with contemporary techniques and materials and is how my work evolves. Spontaneity and a sense of adventure are with me when creating. Color and texture are always at the heart of my art and there are many layers buried beneath the surface of any painting."
